Shining a Light On The Fight Against Cancer

Alongside working with some of the world's leading FMCG and Automotive brands, the Initials team have recently been involved in a piece of work with a company whose mission will have a huge impact on all of our lives in the not too distant future.

Achilles Therapeutics is a team of four leading specialists in patient-specific cancer therapies that harness the immune system to destroy cancer cells. Their combined expertise in cancer evolution, bioinformatics and immunotherapies will allow patients to be treated with a non-toxic, totally unique therapy that destroys cancer cells without harming healthy cells.

The Achilles team originally approached Initials to help with the design of their brand logo. Led by Simon Callender, Creative Strategy Director and Chris Perowne, Head of Design, we took Achilles on a journey to reveal that a brand is much more than a logo and worked closely with them to create a full brand architecture, vision, proposition and of course, a beautifully designed brand identity that matched their ambition and values.

Dr Chris Ashton, CEO of Achilles Therapeutics, had this to say:

"We had struggled for a number of months with this project until we met Initials. As a company operating in the specialist and highly technical field of pharmaceuticals (cancer therapeutics), I thought this would be quite a big challenge for them. As an agency they surpassed all expectations from beginning to end. The unique partnership within Initials, closely linking strategy and creative was evident from the outset. We were truly impressed not only in terms of the output, but also in the way in which the Initials team physically worked together throughout the entire process. This close relationship between strategy and design, the high level of engagement working hand in hand with us, the client, was particularly impressive.

They invested considerably in understanding us as people, as an organization, our challenges, our goals and our aspirations. The process was exciting and very interactive from start to finish to the point where we were always looking forward to the next meeting or the next iteration.

They took us on a journey that taught us a lot about ourselves and our proposition that we would have never managed without them. We have finished up with a company brand which is exciting and leading edge within our industry."
